Mayer Brown donates $100,000
to support relief efforts in Haiti

20 January 2010 – Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, has contributed $100,000 to assist victims of the crisis resulting from the earthquake in Haiti. The firm donated $50,000 each to Doctors Without Borders and Habitat for Humanity.

“The human tragedy of the Haiti earthquake has both immediate and long-term ramifications for the victims, and our goal in supporting these organizations is to have a positive impact both now and in the future,” said Kenneth S. Geller, managing partner of Mayer Brown. “Doctors Without Borders is working tirelessly to deal with the urgent medical needs of tens of thousands of injured Haitians, and Habitat for Humanity will play a central role in the effort to provide new homes for the hundreds of thousands who have been made homeless by the earthquake.

“Catastrophes like the Haiti earthquake call on all of us to do what we can to help alleviate suffering and begin the recovery process, and we at Mayer Brown welcome the opportunity to play our part,” Mr. Geller said.
